Our Prime Quality Ostrich Wing Plumes are the best we have to offer. Each feather is hand selected for quality then steamed to eliminate all twists and wrinkles in the fibers. This is the closest thing to perfection. |
#1 Quality Wing Plumes |
Our #1 Quality Plumes are the most popular choice for centerpieces and costuming. They are a mix of all three quality grades, but about 80% will be Prime and #1 Quality. If you are using these feathers in centerpieces, what few flaws there are in the remaining 20% will be mostly unnoticeable. We still steam each plume individually to make sure that each one looks it's finest. |
#2 Quality Wing Plumes

#2 Quality Plumes will all have slight to moderate damage. However, many of our #2 Quality Plumes were separated from the Prime Quality material, so even if there is a slight imperfection it becomes a #2. At first glance, a few of these feathers might even appear to be Prime Quality, but we are rigorous in our grading system. Because feathers are a natural product, an honest depiction of what to expect from our #2 Quality Material cannot be represented by one feather. In one pound, you will not find two feathers exactly alike. There are no broken feathers in our #2 Quality Plumes, so they are still popular for centerpieces.. |

Ostrich Wing Plumes are the best feathers to use for tower vase centerpieces. Ostrich Wing Plumes are very large and very beautiful. Their quills are about as thick as a pencil and the fibers get up to about 8-10" in length. Ostrich Wing Plumes have very thick fibers and the longer ones have droopy tips that hang down when mounted in a tower vase. Most people use between 15 and 25 feathers per centerpiece depending on budget and personal taste. Long Ostrich Drabs are commonly used as a substitute for Wing Plumes and are also very beautiful, but if you desire the most plush and luxurious look to your centerpieces, Ostrich Wing Plumes are the only choice. |
